The Photographer Dan ProudDan Proud loves the Australian landscape, and is dedicated to capturing photographs of its wild beauty. He is captivated by the simplicity and vastness of the outback, and by his photography aims to promote and increase appreciation of its diversity.
Having had no technical training (apart from growing up with his dad, who was addicted to the nuts and bolts of a 35mm Canon SLR) Dan's photographic journey began in highschool. With a cheap point and shoot digital camera, composition and colour became a fascination, and very quickly the need for more megapixels, better glass, became top priority. With each new image he's driven to produce something better, bouncing ideas, inspiration and feedback from many other landscape photographers.
Dan's love of the outdoors and rural Australia has had strong influence on the direction of his photography. Since owning his first digital SLR, he's taken every opportunity to travel and photograph many areas including Queenslands outback, the Kimberleys and the Pilbara. Dan's never been short of inspiration, and finds the more he travels, the more there is to be discovered.
One of the greatest things, is to do what you love, as a job. When not shooting landscapes, Dan is working as a commercial and industrial photographer, and enjoys working on projects with engineers, project & marketing managers to achieve images with precision and impact.
